Pocket Tales is presenting at SXSW!

Pocket Tales was recently offered an exclusive invitation to compete in SXSW’s Microsoft BizSpark Accelerator Competition. I assume your reaction at this point is either ”So what?” or ”No way?!”

The “So what’s” keep reading…

The “No way’s”, here’s our proof:

SXSW (short for “South by South West”) is a crazy week of three concurrent festivals and conferences - Interactive, Film, and Music - held annually in Austin, TX.

The Interactive festival attracts the who’s who of the internet and emerging technology industry. About 7,000 Entrepreneurs, journalists, investors, and tech fans all converge in Austin once a year to learn from stellar panels featuring the likes of people like Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg, to network at SXSW’s legendary parties, and even to launch their products. Most notably, Twitter launched at SXSW in 2008 and Foursquare launched there in 2009.

Presenting at the Microsoft BizSpark Business Accelerator Competition is an opportunity for Pocket Tales and Indianapolis to be recognized on a national stage. Eight teams were selected to compete in the “Entertainment” category including Pocket Tales, and only 32 teams overall. It’s expected that 2,500 people will attend the competition live, including a prominent panel of judges with venture capital or media backgrounds. The world can also view the competition as it will be streamed live on the web. (I’ll try to provide a link on this blog when we know what it is)

Even more interesting is the fact that Pocket Tales is the only company from the Midwest.

With this type of exclusive recognition, we hope to garner the attention of the media, investors, strategic advisors, and hires.

As you can imagine we’re extremely excited and nervous. The festival starts Friday, March 12th and the competition is Monday, March 15th. Feel free to mark your calendars, but you can bet we won’t let you forget.
